The Socialization of New Recruits by Their Line Managers in the Civil Service of Ghana (2022-23), funded by International Growth Centre

This project examines how direct supervisors socialize new recruits into the civil service and the consequence of this socialization process on recruit motivations, using interviews and two large-N surveys including a vignette experiment with public officials in Nigerian and Ghanian Civil Service.

Boring Office Politics? How Everyday Interactions Shape the Performance of Public Organisations (2025-26), funded by International Growth Centre

This project investigates how public managers in Ghana use office politics in their daily interactions with subordinates and the influence of their managerial political behaviours on subordinates' motivations, career progression, and team dynamics, using interviews and a large-scale survey with public officials.
